MDSG Mentoring scheme: Call for Mentors
We are looking for volunteers to be mentors for our inaugural MDSG mentoring scheme – click here to fill in the mentor sign up form.
Your expertise and guidance can make a significant impact on the development of aspiring professionals in our field. As a mentor, you’ll have the chance to shape the careers of emerging geologists and exploration professionals by sharing your professional insights. This programme not only allows you to make a meaningful impact on the next generation but also potentially provides recordable CPD time for professional accreditations. Mentoring is a fulfilling way to stay engaged with the new generation of professionals entering our industry and to contribute to ongoing growth and innovation in mineral exploration.
Structure
The mentoring programme will run for one year. The minimum involvement will be a short meeting (video call or in-person), with follow up meetings or correspondance suggested to take place a minimum of once per quarter, for further guidance and questions. An opportunity for in-person discussion will be provided at the MDSG’s annual winter meeting. This is envisaged as a ‘light touch’ introductory framework, which mentor-mentee pairs can then expand on by mutual agreement.
Timings
Mentor sign up will be opened in the six months preceding the annual meeting in January, mentee sign up will be open during January 2025 starting with (and announced at) the meeting, and mentee-mentor pairs will be introduced in February 2025.
