Welcome to the Mineral Deposit Studies Group (MDSG) Mentoring Programme
Introduction:
Join us in fostering the next generation of mineral deposit experts! The MDSG is excited to announce its inaugural Mentoring Programme designed to connect students and early career geologists with experienced industry professionals. Through guidance, support, and knowledge sharing, this programme aims to create meaningful connections and facilitate the growth of both mentees and mentors in our field.
Programme Details:
The mentoring programme will begin in 2025 and will be officially introduced at the MDSG’s annual winter meeting in January. Mentors and mentees will have the opportunity to engage in a ‘light touch’ introductory framework, with initial contact by email and conference call, cultivating relationships that can expand by mutual agreement.
Why Participate?
Mentors: Share your expertise and guide the next generation of professionals. Contribute to the growth and development of aspiring minds in the field. Gain time within a structured mentoring programme to contribute to your continuing professional development (CPD).
Mentees: Gain insights, knowledge, and valuable advice from experienced mentors in the mining and exploration industries. Expand your understanding of the industry and bolster your employability.
Call For Mentors:
We are currently looking for volunteers to be mentors for this scheme – if you would like to volunteer as a mentor please click here to fill in the mentor sign up form.
Stay Tuned:
Mentee sign up will be open during January starting with (and announced at) the meeting, and mentee-mentor pairs will be introduced in February.
