Research Assistant in mineralogy / geochemistry (Leicester, UK)
We are looking to recruit a Research Assistant in mineralogy / geochemistry. The purpose of this role is to work on a project to develop the application of Deep Eutectic Solvent (DES) technology to mineral processing. The project is funded by Argo, which seeks to commercialise this Technology. You will work within the Centre for Sustainable Resource Extraction in collaboration with the Materials Centre in Chemistry. You will focus on characterisation of test materials (ores, concentrates, tailings) and leached residues for mineralogy texture and geochemistry in order to assess the suitability of different solvents.
You will hold a Masters level qualification in Applied Geology, Mineralogy, Geochemistry (or another relevant subject). With some relevant professional experience you will have experience of project work with industrial partners. You will have proven analytical and technical problem-solving capability and be able to work to tight deadlines and work on your own initiative.
